This armchair is a magnificent example of the Empire (from 1795-1815 at the time of Napoleon I). A bronze eagle supports the armrest and is a frequently used motif of this era. The cover has been renewed and remains true to the original. The wood is probably walnut, in ready-to-live-in condition
