An antique Victorian and Civil War-era silver-plated toothpick holder shaped like a porcupine. It was made by Wilcox Silver Plate Co. in the 1860s and stamped with the item number 1900. The toothpicks will form the quills of the porcupine. It holds approximately 50 toothpicks. Perfect for charcuterie, olives, fruit plates, and other hors d'oeuvres. In excellent condition, with a dark antique patina and moderate wear to the silver plating.
