This beautiful, vintage figural brass (brass plated) vanity mirror was made in the later mid-century, likely the 1960-1970's, in a style inspired by earlier Art Nouveau and Rococo revival decorative objects. It features a highly detailed female figure supporting a rotating round mirror, set on an ornate, heavily decorated pedestal base. The mirror rotates fully and features a standard mirror on one side and a magnified mirror on the reverse, making it both decorative and highly functional for vanity or tabletop use. It has a nice, substantial weight and feels very solid and well made. The detailing throughout is beautiful, especially the elegant decorative edging surrounding the mirror and the ornate base work. The mirror glass shows natural age-related antiquing and spotting consistent with vintage mirrors. One side shows more pronounced antiquing, while the opposite side shows lighter spotting, which is typical of natural aging of mirror silvering over time.
The warm brass tone and sculptural figural base give this piece wonderful presence. It feels romantic and classical, but still works beautifully layered into traditional, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic interiors.
