It’s not often I find such a large set of these antique plates, they are absolutely gorgeous and can be used to display his artwork today or to use on your table
This is a vintage English Chinoiserie transferware plate, likely dating from 1860-1870. Transferware is pottery with a pattern applied by transferring a print from a copper plate to paper and then to the pottery.
The plate features a brown and wheat color scheme.
It depicts a scene with people, a dog, and a bird, possibly in an Asian setting.
The pattern is likely "The Mongol Huntsman" or "Sana".
Transferware was developed in the late 18th century to provide affordable tableware.
It was commonly produced in Staffordshire, England, due to available resources and labor.
The depicted scene is reminiscent of Chinese designs found on porcelain popular in the 18th century.
