A stylish polychrome 19th century French majolica serving platter with embossed depictions of asparagus and artichokes decorated with coloured glaze, having a design of flowing lines typical of the art nouveau art movement, with an oval shaped well to the centre. Works beautifully as a decorative piece for your wall. Circa 1890s.
An identical platter is featured in a french book titled "Artichauts er Asperges en Barbotine" by Maryse Bottero, in which she attributes Luneville as the maufacturer of the piece.
