Hand made by the French speaking artisans … Read more Here we have a stunning French style octagonal faience compote or pedestal bowl. Hand made by the French speaking artisans of Gruyères Switzerland. The center of the compote features a traditional crane (in French: grue) which inspired the name of the town and iconic cheese. Embellished with pretty flowers and scrolls in lovely shades of blue, yellow, green and peachy orange. Reticulated octagonal bowl stands on an eight-sided base with side handles. Measures 9.75” wide at the widest points x 9.125” deep at the flat sides x 5.5” high. Excellent condition, I find no damage. A gorgeous addition to any faience collection... thanks for looking!!!
