The design features a … Read more Charming set of Southern Pottery / Blue Ridge Pottery dinnerware in the sunny "Freedom" flower pattern. The design features a cream field with bright yellow (poppy?) flowers, dark green veined foliage and scalloped, piecrust edges. Mark en verso "Blue Ridge, Hand Painted Underglaze, Southern Potteries, Inc. Made in U.S.A. Some pieces are unmarked but no doubt are of this pattern and maker.

The collection consists of 40 pieces:
* 8 dinner plates (10.25" Dia., excellent condition w/ Southern Pottery mark);
* 3 salad/desser/luncheon plates (8.25" Dia., excellent condition w/ Southern Pottery mark);
* 6 bread & butter plates ( 6.2" Dia, excellent condition, unmarked);
* 4 bowls, (7"W x 6.25"L x 1.75"H, excellent condition w/ Southern Pottery mark);
* 7 cups (4.6"W x 3.8"L x 2.2"H, excellent condition, unmarked);
* 8 saucers, (6.2" Dia., excellent condition, unmarked);
* 1 platter, (13.6"W x 7.2"L, excellent condition, unmarked);
* 1 round serving bowl (9.5" Dia. x 2.25"H, (excellent condition w/ Southern Pottery mark);
* 1 creamer (5.5"W x 4"L, excellent condition, unmarked);
* 1 open sugar bowl (5.6"W x 3.6"L, very good condition w/ small chip on footer, unmarked).

Thirty-nine pieces in excellent condition -- no chips, no cracks, no crazing. One piece in very good condition with no cracks, no crazing, 1 tiny chip on underside of footer which is not readily visible. Fabricating irregularities inherent in artisan made pieces. An amazing set; obviously cherished and cared for in light of the excellent condition for 80+ years of enjoyment.
