A 19th century French Country horloge de parquet, or tall case clock. The case is made of oak and beechwood with raised pearwood panels. In two parts, with a curved shaped body and paneled front. Glass panes are old but not original. The enamel clock face has Roman numerals and a decorative embossed brass surround with Sun King. Seven day Morbier movement strikes on the hour and once on the half. Professionally cleaned and in working order. Good craftsmanship with pegged and mortise and tenon construction. Beautiful wood grain with waxed patina. Small ding in the enamel. Restoration on upper right corner and trim. Please refer to photos for more details. Circa 1840-1860.
