In great condition with no chips or cracks, the sculpture’s base does have a shallow ding, easily buffed out, and both the base and sculpture are fused together as one piece in the maestro's furnace. The interior of the glass is adorned with beautiful 24k gold leaf flecks created by rolling gold leaf into the hot glass mass, which is then followed by a layer of transparent glass. The glass is blown or pulled, and the figures are sculpted by hand, allowing the gold leaf to break into smaller pieces inside the sculpture. This intricate process creates a captivating play of light and gold throughout the piece.
Signed by Giuliano Tosi at the top of the black glass stand next to the feet of the figures, this piece showcases Tosi’s mastery and the elegance of Murano glass art. Tosi, born in 1942, has spent over six decades in glassmaking. His works have been exhibited worldwide, including in Milan, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.
