Soft curves and a stately bearing are the hallmarks of the Régence style, which predated the Rococo in France. These are early 20th century chairs, well carved with the motifs of the early 18th century. Each has a caned back and a newly upholstered comfortable loose cushion in an 18th century style woven fabric with a birds and branches motif. Good antique condition, with some attractive light distress to the paint, some small paint losses, mainly on the painted caning.
