Description: This vintage hand sewn double bed quilt makes beautiful use of several 19th century fabrics. The backing is calico print cotton . It is in remarkable and useable condition for it's age. It is at once cozy and beautiful. It's a perfect addition to your collection of antique textiles or a thoughtful gift to bring warmth and history to one's home.
Condition: Very good condition. There are some light discoloration and some minor fraying along one edge and a a couple of frays and tiny hole on the backing. The fabric is still strong as it was stored well. No smells no mold. Due to age not laundered. Completely useable or collectible.
Provenance: includes a tag, " Made by Elizabeth Ann Miriam ( Beth) Hartgrove Marton before 1867 given to granddaughter Nell Chatham 1928" This was purchased from a home in San Jose CA.
