Measuring an impressive 94 inches by 89 inches (7 ft. 10 in. x 7 ft. 5 in.), this one-of-a-kind textile showcases a remarkable variety of traditional embroidery techniques, including chain stitch, satin stitch, couched metallic thread (zari), appliqué, and decorative quilting.

The individually embroidered panels feature an array of floral, geometric, and symbolic motifs in vibrant jewel tones accented with metallic gold and silver threads. Many of the fragments appear to have originated from ceremonial garments, decorative textiles, and domestic embroideries from Central and South Asia, giving the work exceptional depth, history, and character. The fragments were later assembled into a striking decorative textile with a hand-quilted burgundy cotton backing.
