19th c quality French porcelain box with gilt metal mounts, painted with 18th century figures in landscapes within gilt scroll borders. The mark is recorded as being used by the M E Claus in Paris from around 1868 to 1900, and very similar to the crossed swords mark of the Royal Saxony porcelain factory at Meissen.
