Set of 4 blue and white saucer plates.
Each plate features a painted scene of a pagoda, set atop a hill surrounded by flora and fauna. Birds fly above the pagoda, Japanese men in costume walk in the background and fern and willow trees flank the sides of the structure.
Around the edges of each plate, a fine gold-painted line adds interest and breaks up the blue and white. The edges of the plates around the outside feature chinoiserie dot and diamond pattern in a scalloped manner. Greek key detail frames the pattern.
How We Would Style It:
We envision this set of saucers used at the dinner or "supper" table as we say in the south! A versatile set, they could be used as either bread plates, plates to rest a teacup or dessert plates.
Alternatively, they could be used as a "catchall" in a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, foyer, or guest room. Or as a gift for your favorite host or hostess.
