This beautiful compote is made of porcelain. This pedestal bowl is stamped on the bottom " Echt Cobalt / Bareuther / Waldsassen / Bavaria Germany / 22 Carot Gold / Handarbeit " to mark it as being handmade in Germany by Bareuther, see pictures. This piece has a lovely cobalt base color to the porcelain with stunning gold color accents as well as a lovely compote silhouette. Please see photos for size/scale, the height is approximately 4 1/2" and the diameter is approximately 7 3/4". There are some small scratches and minor spots of discoloration here and there, see pictures. The condition of this compote is secure and sturdy, there are some aging imperfections/scratches here and there due to its age and as part of its wear and tear, see pictures.
