This pedestal bowl is a favorite piece from my collection! Opaque glossy black glass is made in the perfect shape! The black glass body is accented with a sterling silver neoclassical pattern applied to the edges. Swags, leaves, curls, ribbons, and urns decorate the bowl! Incorporated into the pattern is the word "sterling" in small type.
This dish was probably originally intended for candy or nuts, but now it would be perfect to hold a bright pink camellia from the garden, or as a decorative object to add to your vintage collection.
Possibly 1920s or Depression - era.
