The white porcelain body is enhanced with puce decoration executed in true manganese-based enamel using the camaïeu technique, creating subtle light-to-dark variations within a single hue.

Porcelain caddies of this period were often fitted with silver mounts to create an airtight seal, preserving the freshness and aroma of tea, which was an exceptionally valuable commodity. This example retains its ribbed Rococo silver lid, precisely fitting the porcelain collar.

The body exhibits the warm, creamy tone and subtle firing characteristics associated with early hard-paste porcelain. The unglazed base bears the hand-painted blue crossed swords mark, consistent with 18th-century Meissen manufacture.
