A set of four Mid-Century French pottery fish plates, hand-potted and painted by the ceramist Paulette Quinson, (1899-1984) Marseille - Circa 1950-1960
Beginning in 1924, Quinson ran a well known art pottery studio in Marseille, on the French Mediterranean coast. She collaborated with the esteemed pottery Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.
The large, creamy white earthenware plates are decorated with applied fish and seaweed, raised from the plate by approximately a half inch. Each plate shows a different fish at the top on sprigs of raised seaweed, a larger sprig of green seaweed is applied to the bottom rim.

Each plate is signed by the artist.
