A French Barbotine majolica Asparagus plate in the Art Nouveau style, Frie Onnaing, circa 1890-1910.
A deep plate with a shaped rim and a scallop shell motif sauce well bordered by a curved spear. Overlapping bunches of asparagus in cream and green with purple tips meet the top and right sides of the plate. Art Nouveau style scrolled accents in a Sienna glaze form the rim.
Marked with either an impressed ‘Onnaing, Made in France’ or simply an impressed ‘France.’
