This Listing is a Pair of Metal and handwoven Caning Seat Chairs, model Cesca, designed by Marcel Breuer for Gavina circa 1980, manufactured in Italy.
White Finish Metal pipe frame, wood dovetailed seat and back structure and handwoven rattan.
No Markings.
In good vintage condition, minor wear to the seat caning on both seats consistent with age, frames professionally refinished.
Ready for a new Mediterranean, Tropical Home Setting.
Marcel Breuer (1902–1981), was a Hungarian-born modernist, architect and furniture designer. One of the masters of Modernism, Breuer extended the sculptural vocabulary he had developed in the carpentry shop at the Bauhaus into a personal architecture that made him one of the world's most popular architects at the peak of 20th century design.
