George and Company Oriental rosewood carved, curved back accent, or throne chair with carved dragon motifs throughout, with a quasi Greek-Key inter-connected, dowel joinery craftsmanship. Ever part of the surround sides, curvaceous and sloped arms, to the curved back rest are pieced, and joined separately, either carved, and honed, unique onto itself. Also there is a weighted (bead-weighted interior to the seat cushion, all original, with the textile a cotton viscose tone on tone black or charcoal coloration, which the outer edge mimics or mirrors the interior linear surround slight, recessed seat. Made in Hong Kong by J.L. and Company, in the heart of the Merchandise District of Cameroon Rd., in Hong Kong. Back in the day, where the likes of Jim Thompson, Jack Lenore Larson, James Mont,Dorothy Draper, etc., with many distinctive designer's or Design Houses, had furniture produced for their collections, to export into Europe and North America, especially during the hey day of the Hollywood Regency Era, and into the Mid-Century era, whereupon this chair's timeline resides within. It has been owned "only," by one owner, whose secondary Florida home was filled with all Hollywood Gilt Regency, Tole, Mid-Century, Milo Baughman, Chinoiserie and the likes, as they are synonymous to this period, including 3 distinctively different Gilt venetian Wood Carved Mirrors, soon to be listed within. In great to excellent condition, with only some of the joinery has dried, chair should only be handled or moved from the base, as the top frame-work is a skeleton frame work of superb craftsmanship, with dried and aged kilrosewood
