Excellent Pre-Owned Condition.
Colorful, mixed set of porcelain rice bowls and assorted pattern spoons. There is one wan shou wu jiang bowl (万寿无疆) that is unmarked with a Greek key border motif on the lip. Two other bowls, also with the Greek key motif, are decorated with cherry blossom and peony floral motifs; both are unmarked. The last two bowls have incised exteriors with a motif consisting of bats and peonies with “Decorated in Hong Kong” on the underside of each. The five spoons are all varied Chinese fruit and floral symbology with one displaying a dragon motif. All are marked either “Made in China or Decorated in Hong Kong”. There are five bowls and each measures 4½” x 4½” x 2¼” W/D/H; liquid capacity per bowl 8 oz. There are five spoons and each measures 5¾” long x 1¾” wide, apiece. Together the set weighs 2 lbs. The three spoons from China have five firing pin marks, apiece, on the underside as a result of the manufacturing process. All ten pieces are in very good condition with age-appropriate wear. All bowls are white on the interior. Of note, the turquoise incised bowl and one spoon have a stress mark, apiece, that does not affect either their structural integrity or beauty (see photos 7 & 8).
