This horse is a beautiful reproduction of the early horses which pulled the chariot of the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang.
The original discovery was during the Qin Dynasty while a farmer was digging a well for water. 7000 life size terra-cotta soldiers and 500 life size horses were in the tomb.
