One … Read more An early 19th-century French porcelain round serving platter, acquired from a dealer at the Marché aux Puces in Paris. One of several pieces from the same vendor, all listed separately in our shop — including a large soup tureen, a sauce tureen set with underplate, a deep-well meat platter, and a diamond-form serving dish, all in the same rose floral on white.
The scalloped rim is divided into molded panels separated by scrollwork cartouches — the same Rococo vocabulary as the rest of the service — with a fine rose pinstripe tracing the edge. Rose floral sprigs are distributed evenly around the border panels and a central bouquet sits in the well, light and well-spaced against the white ground.
In excellent antique condition throughout.
