Jenkins-Phipps label on underside, dating this chair from between 1903 and 1918. Structurally sound with no breaks or losses and no restorations. Finish is original. "The other rattan company in Wakefield, the A. D. Jenkin's and Company, evolved into the Jenkins-Phipps Company after Jenkins partnered with a salesman named Irvin E. Phipps, who left the Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company circa 1903. The new company sold out to Pierce & Foley of Boston and New Jersey in the late spring of 1918. Under new ownership the factory in Wakefield expanded becoming the American Reed and Willow Company. See less
