Gorgeous Belle Époque France, circa 1900. The carving on these chairs (sold individually) is amazing; both crisp and well executed with gilt over gesso.
Unchanged since constructed, so some gilding loss is evident on the backs, legs, and other areas frequently handled. The floral Aubusson upholstery is in excellent condition, as shown in the photos.
A beautiful chair for a dressing table, writing table, or as an elegant accent!
