A Mid-Century Majolica glazed French faïence Oyster plate, Orchies, circa 1950.
Hand glazed in an ombre Olive green on a bright white ground, showing six scallop shaped oyster wells that follow the rim with an additional shell shaped well in the center for sauce or lemons. The intensity of the glazing varies on each plate.
Marked Orchies Moulin de Loupes with the Windmill backstamp. Also marked, Decor grand feu special lava vaisselle, meaning especially fired to be dishwasher safe.
9.75 in. Diam. x .75 in. H
Excellent vintage condition. Multiples are available for building a set.
