Figural group of people with an artist doing a painting of a woman. Is it Marie Antoinette ? It looks like her to me but I am not sure. The porcelain bisque scene is on the lid of an inkwell. The piece dates back to the 19c Germany. It is a scene of a gentleman painting a portrait of a Victorian woman. The is a second woman seating with 2 spaniels. The lid and Victorian scene is in great vintage condition. I believe there may have been some small repairs to the hands, see photos. I am not sure but it IS a possibility. Underneath the lid is the inkwell and the drying powder container. My favorite part of this inkwell is that the holders for ink and powder have the old man face as seen on other German pieces.
