Hard-to-find Art Nouveau / Art Deco period collectible knife rest
Made of pewter in the form of a Daschund, this knife holder has a lovely patina and detailing - note the wavy coat and expressive face.
It was made circa 1900 by the largest German pewter factory of the 19th century, Kayserzinn.
Add it to your pack of dog/animal knife rests or start a new one. Would be a great companion for the dog lover or any Art Nouveau or antique metalware aficionado.
It is stamped by the maker and measures just under 4” long from nose to tail.
