Enameled powder blue bowl with floral center and ribbon edge. Late 19th Century original.
Bride's baskets or bride's bowls are usually one-of-a-kind novelties made in American and European glass factories. They were made in almost every color of art. They were especially popular about 1880 when the decorated basket was often given as a wedding gift.
My mother-in-law was a collector of Antiques and she had an eye for unique, unusual and quality pieces. This was in her private collection.
