This unique bowl is a vintage piece from the late 1970s. It was crafted & designed by the respected high end Italian brand ROBEX. The manufacturing process requires five separate layers of polystyrene to achieve it’s unique and highly durable quality. The square- shaped bowl is made of a unique and proprietary plastic material that is occasionally referred to as melamine but it isn’t what we think of as melamine in the USA. This bowl features an all over powder blue & silver printed abstract design. The unusual colors will add a retro touch as a centerpiece, serving bowl or stunning decorative object of art. It is also interchangeable as very high end durable kitchen ware. It looks lovely with fruits, or vegetables and can be used to serve dishes. It features a mid-century modern style and a vintage vibe, which is perfect for collectors or those who appreciate timeless design.
The ROBEX bowl is a studio-crafted piece, with a production technique and style that reflects the era it was made in. The exterior is fashioned to look like a light teak wood and it’s quite realistic. Finding pieces such as this from the mid century is rare and makes these pieces highly sought after. At the time these were made they were well ahead of their time. Mcm Robex is a valuable addition to any kitchen or dining decor. Whether you're serving snacks, salads, or other dishes, or simply using as a decorative object this ROBEX bowl is sure to impress your guests. Robex is featured in numerous museums throughout the world and a similar bowl to the one being sold on Chairish is on display at the MoDiP- Museum of Design in Plastics in the United Kingdom. A similar bowl acquired by the museum was a reproduction of the original 1970’s bowls and manufactured in 2009. It is listed on their website as Object number
AIBDC : 006024. I have included a screen shot here of the museums website in this post for your Reference.

The exterior walls and interior of bowl show virtually no wear and tear with the exception of one short scratch that is almost impossible to see. I had to move it at an angle under just the right light to see it. I believe this bowl was likely used as a display object for most of its life. less
