Fabulously eclectic decorative accents that exude the consummate boho chic vibe! In China, this type of hat is called dǒulì, literally meaning a “one-dǒu bamboo hat” (where a dǒu is equivalent to 10.3 liters or the size of a hat). The dǒulì was traditionally worn by peasants, farmers and anyone else who did manual labor, to protect the wearer from the elements. Both are handcrafted from split bamboo and bamboo grass in an open weave design with the smaller one having a plaited leaf crown. There is a layer of bamboo sheath between the woven bamboo strands so that light can shine through on both. Each one has a distinctly different design, weave and size that will add gorgeous visual and textural interest to any wall space in your home. You could get very creative and turn one or both into gorgeous lampshades for hanging pendant lights. The large dǒulì measures 24¾ x 24¾” x 9½” W/D/H, while the smaller one is 15” x 15” x 7” W/D/H. Beautifully handcrafted with exquisite attention to detail and structural integrity, both are in excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. Only the smaller one has a makers label.
