Extremely fine cast and gilding of a late 19th century stemmed tazza Box. Decorated with a lizard finial and balanced by two beetles standing on each arm. The lizard, beetles, and vines celebrate the overall aesthetic period of love of petite nature, wild nature, and most things unusual—the outside walls with deeply carved floral leaves and flowers. The underside is covered in a six-pointed flower. Cover in a gilt and dark bronze pattern, the interior is bright gold. The height is 5" and 6.8" wide at the handles. The bottom is also gilded. Very good condition. No maker mark was found on the bronze.
