This lovely oval serving platter has the maker’s marks “Flaxman Opaque China, S.H.& S. England, Rd No. 479163” on the back, which dates it back to between 1906, when the pattern was registered, and 1937, when the maker, Sampson, Hancock & Sons (S H & S) closed its company.

This gorgeous platter has a white background with a blue, Roman inspired, pattern of blue cameos, ovals, urns, and swags.

This beautiful platter would make a wonderful addition to the dining table or to display.

The platter is in very good antique condition for its age. There are some signs of light brown discoloration which is appropriate for its age and normal use. As can be seen from the photos, this is very minor and does not detract from the beauty of the platter. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
