This pair did and still do when I look at them. They have the most exquisite carving and they have age well with the original patina that every antique furniture collector desires. The original rich mahogany lacquer finish has worn off in spots revealing the wood beneath. The form is tradition, straight back armchairs, and the small size is for dainty ladies or children. The crestrail and back splat are verticulated. The open work on the back can be interpreted as a six petal flower (plum blossom) supported by abstracted magnolia blossoms. The open arms on the sides ends in S scrolls and feature squirrel like creatures. See less
