Stroudwater Design Group Inc. design studio is located in the San Francisco Bay Area providing professional landscape architecture design services for residential and estate landscapes, as well as, a small number of winery properties and municipal commissions. Since 1990, David and Patricia Melchert have developed a landscape design practice recognized for its diverse body of work with historic, traditional and modern landscapes that express the thoughtful blending of the client’s individuality with the unique qualities of the architecture and the natural elements of the site.

Highly collaborative in spirit, the atelier of Stroudwater Design Group enjoys working directly with clients as strategic partners in an engaging, shared process to develop smart design solutions responsive to individual client’s needs and desires. We work closely with our clients and the design team to help guide projects from design through construction. Our strong alliances with consultants, builders and artisans contribute to carefully informed design decisions and result in fully realized projects with conceptual clarity and precise detailing.
