Harrison Gilman is based in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Filmmaking, a minor in Art History, and a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. While attending film school, Harrison began to paint. By the time he graduated, Gilman was accepted into his first group show and had committed to being a painter.

Gilman’s work was first displayed in the 2018 We Rise Art Fair in Los Angeles alongside Shepard Fairey and other prominent LA artists. The following year, Gilman had his first solo show at Galerie Tangerine in Nashville, TN, which continues to be the most successful show at the gallery to date. Since then, Gilman has had three solo shows and various group shows, as well as a series of live painting events. His art can be found in private collections in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, Scottsdale, Toronto, and the UK.

"My work is conjured from my subconscious. My paintings begin with a layer of fast-paced gestural abstraction in which I surrender conscious control of the outcome. It gives me the freedom to explore a variety of styles and subject matters. Some of my paintings remain in the purely abstract stage, while others develop into deliberate characters, shapes, and symbols that I interpret from the stage of unrestrained creation."
