Great Oaks Antiques is located just north of Charlottesville, Virginia, in the small hamlet of Madison, VA. We’re approximately 100 miles southeast of Washington DC. The surrounding area, which includes the central Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains, is dotted with quaint historical towns and small cities, many dating their origins (and their names) to the mid-1700’s. It is from this rich region of beautiful estate antiques, handmade, more rustic pieces, and vintage items, that we find the majority of our inventory.

We do come across some lovely Mid Century Modern pieces as well as some truly unique and richly decorated items from England or the Continent. We strive to find well made items with character and a sense of understated style…not too lavish. For example, you won’t likely find any gilded Louis the 14th French pieces or overly contemporary, cutting edge pieces. Our MCM and Art Deco items are about as far down that path as we typically venture.
