Hand-crafted from sumptuous French walnut, each features a lyre-shaped back framed with lush laurel spray and acanthus plume carved detail, with embroidered ribbon and foliate sewn into the plum colored mohair. The seat upright supports are also carved with Greek coin overlay, with egg & dart across the bottom, leading the eye to the generously sized seat. The seat is supported by four tapered, carved and fluted legs, and features more egg & dart molding around the apron, with rosettes on the corners. What a beautiful expression of the classical style, that dates back to ancient Greece and Rome!
