This rare antique 1774 Freudenberger's " La Soiree D"Hyer " original French etching engraving hand painted art print is an incredibly special and unique authentic antique print to add to your collection. Engraved in Paris in 1774 by Francois Robert Ingouf, during his time period he also produced pieces for Versailles.
The original authentic antique etching engraving hand painted art print features an original famous artwork by the Swiss Baroque master painter Sigmund Freudenberger ( 1745 - 1801 ) titled " La Soiree D'Hyver " - winter evening. The oustanding intricate hand painted etching engraving plate is quite impressive and aesthetically engaging in person. The artwork features the artists name, engravers name, and artwork title included on the print. Also featured in the print is an accompanying French poem.
The hand painted print has a stamp of the art gallery of W.W. Mc caughen Fine Arts on the reverse side. The fine arts gallery was founded in 1840 in St. Louis, Missouri, it is the oldest continuously operating art gallery west of the Mississippi River.
The rare antique print measures 10 1/4" W X 13 1/2" H. It is in very good vintage condition consistent with age and some signs of handling. It has never been framed. There is some edge wear and subtle aging. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.
