This gorgeous piece is all hand forged, from the body, to the handles, as close up images shows, and lends itself to the Austrian and Swedish stylistics with the use of Bakelite, Bone, or celluloid for handles. There is a crest or shield, with engraved details, to the lidded top section of server. Even the Maker's mark on the underside states, "1847 Rogers Bros, with the production # 00307. A perfect addition to nay soiree, social gathering, entree dinner accompaniment, with a festive, unique look for any buffet inclusion.
Minor wear due to extensive use, and era, conducive and most natural to such pieces, of the era. Does not deter from the often aspect of such silver, especially as the exquisite overall esthetic and details, such as with material usage of Bakelite, down to the detailed Art Nouveaux feet design, to mimic a leaf. There is no glass liner included. In great condition, with minor scratches.2
