This Really is a Great Looking Antique Early American Blue Decorated Stoneware Storage Jar - Crock. Circa Mid 19th Century. … Read more This Really is a Great Looking Antique Early American Blue Decorated Stoneware Storage Jar - Crock. Circa Mid 19th Century. This 11 1/4 Inches Tall Jar is Completely Hand Made. It is Hand Decorated with 2 ( Front and Back Side ) Beautifully Executed Stylized Navy - Cobalt Blue Flowers. It is Stamped - Embossed "1 1/2" Denoting its One and a Half Gallon Storage Capacity. These These Jars were Typically Used for Jelly's & Jams - Preserved Fruits - Vegetables Etc. It has No Maker Marks but I did Purchase it on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Lancaster Pennsylvania Region and I Believe that it Could be from that Area or Possibly Maryland. It is in Excellent Condition - Displays Beautifully. It has No Cracks - No Chips - No Repairs. The Salt Glazed Exterior has Some Color Variations Etc. That Would Have Occurred in The Making - Kiln Firing Process. These Pieces were Made in Batches and Fired in Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time. It would be Great in Country Primitive Style Kitchen Setting. Truly a Classic Piece of Early Americana.
It Measures Overall Approx. 11 1/4 inches Tall 8 inches Wide - Long.
