It … Read more A Superb, Vintage; c1910-1930s, Joseph Inwald, Barolac, Czechoslovakian, Art Deco era large, monumental and heavy crystal relief, "Trees" Vase. It is a frosted vase, designed, and surrounded entirely in a high relief, of well, detailed and defined, textural forrest of trees surrounded by the accouterments of woods details. It is often confused or attributed to Lalique, as the status, size, and quality is up there with Lalique. The depth perception in this pattern draws on into beyond the surface, and in differing lights either recess or becomes more prominent. Incidentally this pattern is a drawing, and survives the era of manufacture within their archival drawings, one can google to see drawing. The Art Deco and Art Nouveaux periods of design, often had natural outdoor elements, of tree or foliage imbued into pieces. Polished base bottom circular surround, with a welled, relief underside. Boralac was a line of frosted wares, by Joseph Inwald, designed and manufactured for the retailer, John Jenkins & Sons of London. From a Palm Beach, Florida Estate.
