Artist: Harry Elliot
About The Poster: According to artnet.com, "Harry Elliot was a French illustrator known for his gouache depictions of fox hunts, car races, monks and British historical scenes. Enjoying widespread popularity thanks to the reproductions of his works, Elliot’s illustrations were most often used for postcards or book illustrations for works by Charles Dickens and Jack London. Born Charles Edmond Hermet on June 14, 1882 in Paris, France to a lithographer and Anglophile father, he adopted the name Harry Elliot because of his love of all things British. The artist worked for The French Hunter magazine for many years, as well as the Green Library, a publisher for children’s books in France. Elliot died on May 29, 1959 in Villez-sous-Bailleul, France."
