A pair of Hagenauer Elephants! The brass piece is a figurine, while the pewter is a matchbox cover/holder. Designed by Hagenauer, circa 1920s.
The Hagenauer family has been a dynasty of Austrian metalwork for well over a century, and were the vanguard of Art Nouveau and Art Deco in Vienna.
