Its design was made famous after appearing in a 1961 edition of Playboy Magazine in an article about Mid-Century Modern Design and more specifically Jens Risom.
The Iconic C140 chair was also used in the White House under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration and Johnson was photographed sitting in it signing the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Highway Beautification Act in 1965.
