Stand clock, England 2nd half of the 18th century.
Funge clock housing in Cubamahogany massively and veneered with subtle laying work from boxwood nature and colored.
Dial combined with fine gold -plated bronze appliqué
On polished brass and dial silver -plated with engraved elements.
Clockwork with 8-day work with hour, minutes and seconds, date display.
Bag on the bell with repetition.
2 weights and pendulum with spring suspension

Phillip Avenell of Farnham is Recorded Simply - "Died 1783" .he was part of the renown and prolific Avenell (i.e. Seen Spelt Avenall) Extended Family of Unfailingly Excellent Clockmakers Who Worked (Mainly) in Hampshire and Surrey Overs a 200 Year Period.Please So See Lcmah 306 and Lcmah 300 on Current Site Plus LCMAH 247 in Archive Section 2003 - 2006.

Phillip Avenell belongs to a well -known watchmaker dynasty and made his watches in London until 1765. Then he worked in Farnham until 1765 where he died in 1783.
