Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this elm wood armchair features a rectangular open back, adorned with an in-curving splat adorned with a scrolling geometric carved medallion. The two arms present a serpentine shape and rest on thin sinuous supports. The chair showcases a wooden seat with recessed panel in the center and is raised on four straight legs with an eye catching apron in the front, carved with meander motifs and a low stretcher perfect to support the feet.
