This striking piece features elegant hand-carved scrollwork, turned finials, and a warm honey-brown teak finish that showcases the wood's natural grain and rich patina developed over more than fifty years. The graceful carved details lend a sophisticated, timeless presence while maintaining the clean lines associated with quality Asian teak furniture of the period.

The headboard was originally acquired in Taiwan by my family, and has remained in private ownership since purchase. Its substantial construction and decorative craftsmanship make it equally suited for traditional, Asian-inspired, coastal, eclectic, or Hollywood Regency interiors.

The teak displays beautiful color and character with light age-appropriate wear consistent with careful use.

A wonderful statement piece and an increasingly difficult-to-find example of vintage imported teak furniture from the early 1970s.
