Repousse is a metalwork technique where the verso (back) side is hammered to produce low relief images that can be seen when viewing the front. Curled leaves and C-scrolls seamlessly alternate along the outside of the platter to form scalloped edges. Beneath the crenelle are segmented sections (eight in total) that are adorned with alternating images of a cluster of fruit followed by a tall pinnate leaf. Our pair of scalloped sterling silver platters can be displayed on stands (see photos) and placed on top of just about any console, buffet, table, or chest of drawers. See less
